A New Project
So, it's been a while since I've started an exciting new knitting project, but today is the day - I've ordered the yarn and paid for it - gulp (yarn is rather expensive these days) and today it has arrived and I can't wait to get started. I'm going to turn this

and I literally cannot wait - I have been desperate to knit something meaty for ages but hadn't found anything that tickled my fancy - then I came across this pattern and it was love at first sight. Now I know, you may say, what use will I have for an aran patterned cardigan here in Oman where, even in the winter it hardly ever gets below 20 degrees C - and I know, you are right - but hey - what the heck - I haven't knitted myself a cosy cardy in coming on for 7 years and it just has to be done - so to heck with it - I'm doing it and if I can only wear it in the house with the air con on full - so be it !!!!

I found your web site under the search for "knitting, Oman". I just relocated to Muscat about a month ago. So glad to know someone who shares the same passion for knitting. Never thought anyone would knit here since it's not that cold. Haha... Your work is inspiring! I can't wait to see the complete project.

Thank you so much, Becky. Knitting talk sounds like fun especially from the knitting goddess like you. I dont get to knit much nowadays. Too occupied with my 2 kids (3.5 yrs old boy and 11 months old girl). Wish I have a day for myself and knit till I drop! (day dreaming...)
We just relocated from Macau, a little island next to Hong Kong. I love the cold winter there. All the excuse to knit and buy more yarns. Hahaha...

How funny - I used to live in Hong Kong !!! I am only just now starting to get back to knitting and my boys are 9 and 4 so it's early days for you yet !!! I don't think I'm a knitting goddess at all !!! I used to do lots but it's all trailed off now - maybe we could meet for a coffee - does your son go to nursery ? Hi Becky! How funny. I miss shopping and food in HK. Miss wearing winter clothes and boots. Yes, my boy is in nursery from 8am-12pm. We can meet up for coffee. By the way, my email has been hacked!
